RELEASE: FCP Leads Debate Against Paris Climate Accord
EDMONTON, AB: This afternoon Freedom Conservative Party (FCP) Leader Derek Fildebrandt put forward a motion to the Alberta Legislature to reject the Paris Climate Accord. The NDP and Liberals voted to support the agreement while the FCP and the Tories voted to reject it.
"It is important to stand up and be clear where we stand on the Paris Accord. The Accord has the support of all federal parties other than the People's Party of Canada (PPC), and its implications are grave for Alberta's economy." - FCP Leader, Derek Fildebrandt
"It's unsurprising that the NDP voted to support the Accord but we succeeded in getting the Tories to break ranks with their federal counterparts and stand with Albertans on the right side of this issue." - FCP Leader, Derek Fildebrandt
